Rome is like Christmas

Having now arrived in Rome, I’m already struck by the beauty of the place. Brief but frequent excursions to different parts of the city have spotted our days, in between attending orientation exercises at John Cabot University, trying to adjust to time change, and testing out our kitchen.

Last night we went on a late night trip to the Vatican. We had heard that the Christmas was still up in St. Peter’s Square. It was so peaceful at night, the massive Nativity sparkling off the cobblestones. A magical start to the semester.

Already I’m trying to speak more Italian and wipe the google-eyed-tourist look off my face.
